EVA carving features excellent flexibility, rubber like elasticity, good flexibility at -50 C, good transparency and gloss, excellent chemical stability, good aging resistance and ozone resistance, and no toxicity. It has good mixing property with fillers, good colouring and forming processability.

It is closely related to the content of vinyl acetate, molecular weight and melt index. When the melt index (MI) is certain and the content of vinyl acetate (VAC) increases, its elasticity, softness, solubility, transparency and so on will also improve. When the VAC content is reduced, the function is close to polyethylene, the rigidity is increased, the wear resistance and electrical insulation are improved,. If the content of VAC is fixed and the melt index is increased, the softening point will be decreased, the processability and surface gloss will be improved, but the strength will be decreased. Otherwise, with the decrease of MI, the molecular weight will be increased, and the impact function and environmental stress cracking resistance function will be improved.

The polarity of acetate increases elasticity and viscosity, decreases crystallinity and electrical function, and dissolves in hydrocarbon solvents and oils.
